On this boat trip, you’ll travel the entire Keitele–Päijänne Canal route from Jyväskylä to Äänekoski and back in a single day. Highlights of the journey include all five canal locks, where you can watch up close as the ship rises and lowers with the water level while travelling from one lake to another. On the return journey, we’ll also stop by Saraakallio in Laukaa, where you can admire over 7,000-year-old rock paintings directly from the ship’s deck. The oldest paintings are even older than the Egyptian pyramids!
Our generous lunch buffet, freshly prepared in the ship’s own kitchen, features delicious Finnish flavours, locally sourced ingredients and fresh seasonal produce. On the spacious sun deck, you can soak up the summer sunshine, admire the ever-changing lake scenery and enjoy a refreshing drink or ice cream. The ship’s fully licensed restaurant also offers a selection of wines, refreshing cocktails, coffee, and sweet and savoury treats for purchase.
A full day on board, a boat-and-bus combination or just part of the route? The choice is yours! You can enjoy a round trip from Jyväskylä to Äänekoski and back, choose a shorter section of the route using the stops along the way, or combine your boat trip with a bus transfer. With the boat-and-bus option, you can travel one way by boat and the other by bus, experiencing the entire canal route in less time. 🚲 You can also bring your bicycle on board for an additional fee and combine your boat trip with a cycling adventure through the beautiful Finnish Lakeland scenery.
