On this four-hour lunch cruise, the city is soon left behind as m/s Suomen Neito makes its way across Lake Vesijärvi towards Vääksy Canal. Along the way enjoy the summer day and admire the changing lake scenery around you.
Vääksy Canal is one of the absolute highlights of the cruise! As Suomen Neito glides into the canal, the lively summer atmosphere of Vääksy reaches all the way to the ship’s decks. People along the canal often stop to watch the ship and the lock operation, with cheerful waves exchanged between those on shore and passengers on board. After passing through Vääksy Canal, the ship makes a brief visit to Lake Päijänne before heading back towards Lahti.
The many sun decks of m/s Suomen Neito are made for enjoying a Finnish summer day – find your favourite spot on deck and enjoy the warmth of the sun and the gentle summer breeze. The Lunch Cruise is also a favourite with families: for younger passengers, the boat journey, passing through the lock at Vääksy Canal and visiting the captain can turn the day into a little adventure of its own. You can also take a peek at the bridge and see where and how the ship is navigated – please always ask the captain for permission before visiting.
Our generous lunch buffet is prepared in the ship’s own kitchen and invites you to enjoy delicious food along the way. The buffet features Finnish flavours and locally sourced ingredients, while the views from the restaurant of m/s Suomen Neito mean you can continue enjoying the lake scenery even while dining! The experience is complemented by our carefully selected wine list, updated each year. During the cruise, you can also purchase coffee, pastries, ice cream and other treats from the ship’s restaurant, as well as a selection of refreshing drinks. The ship is fully licensed to serve alcohol, with a range of options available for adult guests.
