Experience the return journey of our Five-Canal Boat Trip from Äänekoski to Jyväskylä! This scenic boat trip takes you through the beautiful countryside and lake scenery of the Keitele–Päijänne Canal, passing through five canal locks and six lakes along the way. During the journey, you can enjoy a generous lunch buffet freshly prepared in the ship’s own kitchen – please book your lunch in advance. The onboard restaurant also offers coffee, ice cream, sweet and savoury snacks, and refreshing drinks. On the spacious sun deck, you can relax, enjoy the summer day and admire the ever-changing lake views.
A special highlight of the return journey is a stop at Saraakallio, where you can admire some of Finland’s most extensive prehistoric rock paintings directly from the ship’s deck. The oldest of these thousands-of-years-old paintings are even older than the Egyptian pyramids!
The full return journey, a boat and bus combination, or just part of the route? The choice is yours! You can travel the entire route from Äänekoski to Jyväskylä, choose a shorter section using the stops along the way, or combine your boat trip with a bus transfer. With the boat and bus combination, you can travel from Jyväskylä to Äänekoski by bus and return by boat, allowing you to experience the entire canal route in less time.
